Disability Services at South Plains College
Students with disabilities attending South Plains College will find many programs and services designed to provide access to all aspects of college life. South Plains College is committed to providing equitable opportunities for success and offers assistance to students with disabilities based on their unique needs. Students with disabilities are granted accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Any student who anticipates a need for accommodations due to a disability should apply with the Disability Services Office online at the link below. Disability Services staff are available at the Levelland Campus or the Downtown Center to answer questions in-person or call 806-716-2529. Disability Services are available at every campus.
Note: Adequate notice to prepare for and provide accommodations and services is required.
APPLY FOR ACCOMMODATIONS HERE:
AIM, which stands for Accessibility Information Management, is an online system utilized by South Plains College to manage accommodations for students with disabilities, allowing them to request services and coordinate with instructors through a centralized portal.
- Steps to Services:
- Students must be accepted to South Plains College and have been issued a student ID number along with SPC Username and Password to be able to access the application for Disability Services.
- Complete application for Disability Services on the AIM Portal (above).
- Upload documentation to AIM Portal: in accordance with federal law, a student requesting accommodations must provide adequate and acceptable documentation of disability. Guidelines regarding satisfactory documentation can be found here.
- Receive approval email from Disability Services staff.
- Student will call or email Disability Serivces staff to set up the Initial Meeting.
- Complete Initial Meeting.
- Sign acknowledgements.
- Request accommodation letters for each course.
- Meet with instructor(s) to discuss your accommodations.

- Returning SPC Students who are already registered with Disability Services:
SPC Students currently registered and approved with Disability Services will log into their AIM Portal (orange link above) to send accommodation letters to their instructors at the beginning of each semester.
***Note: Students must request, send out accommodation letters, and meet with instructors each semester in order for accommodations to become active.

If you believe that an action or decision made by the Disability Services Office violates
your rights,
you may initiate a grievance procedure.Your first step should be to address the problem with the Coordinator of Disability
Services. If you are still not satisfied,you should contact the Director of Health & Wellness.
If your concerns are not resolved at this level, the Vice President of Student Affairs can provide direction on further appeals procedures.Information on student appeals and the academic appeals procedures are published in the General Catalog. Specific procedures, including ADA/504 complaints, are outlined in the Student Guide.
